Thoughts behind this Glamorous Coastal Entryway
I think where we eat should be cheerful and even delightful. After all the food that we're eating is nourishing our bodies...why shouldn't what we look at while we eat do the same?
With this in mind I've designed this colorful breakfast room with delight in mind. I chose a white simple breakfast table with a little modern edge. I made sure that the table round as studies have shown that round tables promote more open communication.
I also included a set of four of my favorite prints from my 2016 collection. They're so cheerful! If you have a large blank wall in your breakfast room I recommend hanging them in a square as seen below. You can download my free e-guide How to Choose Art Sizes for Large Spaces. However, if you have slim or awkward wall spaces in your breakfast room download my e-guide - How to Choose Art Sizes from my freebies page.
To add a feminine touch, I choose this dark metal 3 light chandelier which is actually very similar to the chandelier I hung in my old house (and loved!). Then to add color and a little cheerful functionality I choose these blue and white china set (which I love so much I might order for myself!). The dishes tie in the artwork with the table creating balance in the room.
I love rugs. I think they add a coziness to any room that they're in and I don't think that breakfast rooms should be any exception. So I choose this gorgeous light blue and beige cotton rug to add some texture and a backdrop of color to the room.
I also choose this matching buffet and storage table. It's made by the same company that makes the table set so it will match perfectly and allow you to store extra dishes, vases, and other trinkets. It can also serve as a great self serving table right in your colorful breakfast room!
