How to Create a Coastal Living Room with Colorful Artwork
I like the rooms in my house to be interesting....I like them to be different and to really say something about my life. For example, I love to put the various statues and masks that I've bought on my world travels to remind me of my adventures. However, our whole houses can't be filled with completely unique items. So in my opinion the best way around this is to simply pick out furniture and artwork that speaks to you...draws you in and makes you go wow.
However, most of us have full lives. Jobs, families, and hobbies that don't allow us to prioritize home decor. So I've designed the below coastal-inspired modern living room with colorful artwork as an inspirational ensemble....and the best part about it is that if you like the whole room or even aspects of it, you can simply click the images and order. Everything is available for purchase.

Thoughts about this Coastal Living Room with Colorful Artwork
I started out with no lie...one of my favorite prints from my 2016 abstract canvas print collection. It's available in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit your space...including squares and rectangles (#29 & 30), a square set, and rectangle set.
It's a photograph of a glaze painting that I made when I first started making ceramic sculpture in Alexandria, Virginia. It looks like a landscape but it's so abstract and organic it leaves me with a peaceful yet vibrant feeling. It feels organic and coastal without being obvious.
I then paired it with a gold and white lamp to accent the abstract canvas print's yellow gold qualities.

I then chose this beautiful and stylish white sofa with a modern flare to balance the colorful boldness of the abstract canvas print...and I paired it with a soft turquoise to bring back some boldness and to accentuate the turquoise in the abstract canvas print.
To bring out more color without being overpowering I chose a brown jute rug with a blue semi-regular pattern.I then chose an acrylic side table to add the simple modern feel of the space.
Then for balance I chose white curtains (blackout curtains so you can fully enjoy movie night!), a contemporary glass curtain rod, and a textured beige lumbar pillow for the sofa.
